Minneapolis weather is the coldest of any major U.S. city, with an average annual temperature of only 44 degrees. Summertime temperatures are generally in the 80’s with much colder conditions in the winter.
Due to the city’s northern location, Minneapolis weather can be affected by strong arctic high pressure areas which move south out of Canada. In January 1888, a record low of 41 degrees below zero was set.
