Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are falling around the Twin City metro or across most of southern Minnesota or northwestern Wisconsin this morning. Scattered thunderstorms...some with hail...strong gusty winds and very heavy to intense rain showers are located a wide area of steady rain moving from southwest to northeast Minnesota. The 100 mile wide rain area is located roughly from Duluth to the Twin cities to Sioux Falls South Dakota...and had become nearly stationary across Minnesota. The trailing edge is slowly drifting to the east at 5 mph...from Wadena...to Long Prairie...alexndria...Glenwood...Benson...Madison and Canby in west central and southwest Minnesota. The heaviest rain falls of a half inch to an inch and a half an hour have been falling across much of Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
